Apple unveils Apple Watch Series 2
The sequel to the Apple Watch has been unveiled. Apple’s Jeff Williams took the stage at the company’s September Special Event to unveil all the new improvements.
In terms of design, the Apple Watch Series 2 is nearly identical to the first-generation watch. The first-generation Watch was available in aluminum, stainless steel, and real gold materials. The Series 2 adds a Ceramic model, which has a stylish pearl-white shell that offers significant increases in durability. Apple’s latest wearable processor is also included.
The company also announced a new collection of Hermès watchbands, which includes new colors and styles.
Apple also added GPS technology to the Series 2, enabling more accurate fitness tracking and powerful new apps for activities like hiking. In addition to GPS, significantly improved water resistance has been introduced, making the device suitable to wear while swimming.
Apple Watch Nike+ is a new collaboration between Apple and Nike. The Apple Watch Nike+ includes a more brightly colored and more breathable band, and enhanced fitness software.
The Apple Watch Series 1 will be enhanced with Apple’s latest processor and sold at a reduced base price of $269. The Series 2 starts at $369.
