OnePlus 3 announced with impressive specs and low price
OnePlus has a growing history of making great phones at low prices. Today, OnePlus’ newly-announced OnePlus 3 is no different, bringing a gorgeous metal body and a rare 6GB of RAM. Even better, it starts at just $399 unlocked. No invite is required to get one.
The OnePlus 3 is impressive inside and out. It has the Snapdragon 820 processor, (the same found on top-tier phones like the Galaxy S7 and ZTE Axon 7). Combined with an Adreno 530, OnePlus says that tough tasks and games are a breeze. A 16MP camera with OIS rounds out the package. Perhaps the only spec disappointment is the lack of a Quad-HD display or better. OnePlus stayed with good old 1080p on the device’s 5.5″ AMOLED panel.
The OnePlus 3 runs the company’s latest “Oxygen OS,” a version of Android Marshmallow that offers more features and customizations. “Dash Charge” enables the device to go from zero to 63% battery in half an hour.
Overall, OnePlus continues to offer a great phone at nearly half the price of other unlocked flagships. The budget market is getting more and more crowded, though – the ZTE Axon 7 has similar specs and price, and adds a higher-resolution Quad-HD screen and front-facing speakers.
