The ZTE Axon 7 can have a crazy 6GB of RAM
Specs are a big, big deal in the Android world. A next-gen processor or a RAM bump is sure to raise some buzz. Chinese tech company ZTE unveiled a phone, the Axon 7, that’s sure to satisfy anyone’s appetite for speed. Yes, the phone can have up to six, (count ‘em), gigabytes of RAM.
By comparison, Samsung’s latest flagships, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, come with “only” four gigs. They’re powerful phones. For clarity, you have to get the Axon’s 128GB storage option in order to get that monstrous 6 gigs of RAM; otherwise, you’ll end up with four gigs. Not shabby either way.
ZTE’s Axon 7 delivers in nearly every other spec category as well. Users can feast their eyes on its Quad-HD AMOLED display, take 20MP photos and 8MP selfies, employ the power of a Snapdragon 820 (the same processor powering some Galaxy S7 variants), and enjoy a 3140 mAh juice pack. The device’s fingerprint scanner and metal construction are just icing on the cake.
It’s also a fairly cheap phone, costing less than $500 for the base model. It will be available on Magenta and AT&T at launch, and availability for Big Red and Sprint may be introduced later. Nearly all the top US online tech retailers will sell it.
